Brachypelma smithi also known as Mexican Red knee Tarantula is a great beginner species. They can grow up to 6 inches including leg span for female while the male has a smaller body. The female have a longer lifespan compare to the male. They can live between 20 to 40 years while the male one up to 10 years.
